Consultant Position

The CT Youth Services Association seeks to hire a consultant. The person hired will perform a variety of tasks that will support the following goal: To enhance CYSA’s role as a consultant to Youth Service Bureaus and to assist local Youth Service Bureaus in building their respective capacity to perform ACU functions and to serve as a coordinating entity for their local after school programs and services.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Enhance the networking capacity of Youth Service Bureaus at the local level
  • Possess a working knowledge of CYSA in its role as advocate for state mandated ACU functions
  • Understand the statutory charge of Youth Service Bureaus
  • Have working understanding of Positive Youth Development practices
  • Organize and implement professional development seminars
  • Possess strong writing skills and computer skills
  • Facilitate workshops
  • Develop and conduct needs assessments and evaluations
  • Demonstrated ability in assessing community readiness and guide community mobilization efforts with regard to after school programs
  • Create and distribute public relations materials
  • The ability to work with diverse urban, suburban and rural communities
  • Strong knowledge of after school programming
  • The ability to research and apply for grant funding on behalf of CYSA to support Youth Service Bureaus.

This is a contracted position ending June 30, 2012, with an opportunity for contract renewal on July 1, 2012. The successful candidate must be a motivated self-starter who can fulfill contract obligations working a flexible schedule. Some evening meetings can be anticipated.
A valid CT driver’s license is required.

Part-Time Medical Biller

Newtown Youth and Family Services is looking for a medical biller. Part-time, 25 hours a week- Mon, Tues,Thurs 1pm-7pm and Wednesday 1pm-8pm. $16- 18.00/hourly. Must have 1-2 yrsexperience in medical billing. Strong computer skills, attention to detail,excellent organizational skills, must be able to do basic math and the abilityto handle multiple tasks in a prioritized and logical manner.
