AHM Youth & Family Services is seeking a full-time therapist with experience in the counseling of children, teens, young adults, and families.  AHM is committed to providing a supportive environment for all employees.  We take care of the administrative work so our therapists can focus on providing the highest quality care to our clients.

Schedule:       Choice of 35 or 40 hours per week.  Afternoons and evenings required; optional weekend hours.

Salary:           $66,000 to $75,421, based on experience and schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, family and group counseling to children, youth, young adults, and their families, maintaining a caseload of 25 to 30 clients per week, based on schedule.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, identify diagnoses, and maintain current treatment plans following best practices and medical necessity requirements.
  • Maintain all clinical documentation to support the treatment of clients utilizing an electronic health records system.
  • Collaborate with outside providers as needed to coordinate care, provide resources and make referrals.
  • Participate in 4-town mental health prevention/postvention initiative.
  • Offer support groups to community members as needed.  

Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain one of the following licenses from the State of Connecticut:
    • LCSW, LMFT, LPC
    • Position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
    • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in master’s level counseling is preferred.
    • Candidates who are individually contracted through private and state insurance panels will receive preference.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.  Experience with Simple Practice is preferred.
