Full-Time Licensed Outpatient Therapist

AHM Youth & Family Services is seeking a full-time therapist with experience in the counseling of children, teens, young adults, and families.  AHM is committed to providing a supportive environment for all employees.  We offer paid clinical supervision, as well as administrative support to handle insurance, billing, and scheduling, so our therapists can focus on providing the highest quality care to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, family and group counseling to children, youth, young adults, and their families, maintaining a caseload of up to 25 clients per week.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, identify diagnoses, and maintain current treatment plans following best practices and medical necessity requirements.
  • Maintain all clinical documentation to support the treatment of clients utilizing an electronic health records system.
  • Collaborate with outside providers as needed to coordinate care, provide resources and make referrals.
  • Participate in 4-town mental health prevention/postvention initiative.
  • Offer support groups to community members as needed.  

Schedule:

  • 35 hours per week.  Afternoons and evenings required; optional weekend hours.

Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain one of the following licenses from the State of Connecticut:
    • LCSW, LMFT, or LPC. 
    • Position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
    • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in master’s level counseling is required.
    • The preferred candidate will be individually contracted through private and state insurance panels.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.  Experience with Simple Practice is preferred.
