Director of Clinical Services

Position Description-The Clinical Director oversees the daily clinical activities of the Haddam Killingworth Youth and Family Services program. The Clinical Director provides leadership, motivation and support to staff, manages the referrals, admission and discharge process for the program, and ensures the integrity of the program model. The Clinical Director is responsible for assessment, treatment, and comprehensive services to clients and their families and will work with children, adolescents, and adults.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate services with other relevant providers involved in each case (e.g. school personnel, Department of Children and Families, courts, etc.)
  • Facilitates small group learning activities for students in local schools – provide learning activities to guide and engage students towards the achievement of agreed learning outcomes.
  • Works with Executive Director to develop, monitor, and analyze clinical and program performance, outcomes, and develops and monitors quality improvement program goals.
  • Ensures program compliance with accurate and timely weekly, monthly and/or quarterly data collection and submission requirements.
  • Serves as role model for staff to promote strong work ethic and adherence to model specific approaches. 
  • Creates and implements program development initiatives in collaboration with Executive Director
  • Provides regularly scheduled supervision to clinicians, interns, or other program staff as assigned consistent with the program model. 
  • Carries a clinical caseload as needed or appropriate, submits all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, and participates in and promotes quality improvement and outcome measurement activities.
  • Demonstrates leadership by reinforcing positive behavior and promoting recognition using effective employee evaluations, employee appreciation, effective hiring practices, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills while demonstrating a high level of energy, enthusiasm and engagement

Position Requirements- Requires a current license in the State of Connecticut as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

  • 5 years related experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge and experience in individual, family, and group therapy
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Word.
  • AAMFT approved Supervisor credential preferred

Hours: Evening appointments common. Flexible schedule.

Salary: Full-time; $60,000 to $70,000 salary range.
