Hamden, JRB Case Manager



The Juvenile Review Board(JRB) Case Manager is responsible for providing a holistic, clinically-informed, community case management services to families and youth to support youth compliance with the Juvenile Review Board (JRB) diversion plan. Additionally, the Case Manager will provide case management while following the Balanced and Restorative Justice Model.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Manage all cases assigned including but not limited to: Scheduling initial intakes, obtaining relevant school documentation, completing of JRB forms and case notes, scheduling panel dates, and providing all compiled data to JRB supervisor.
  • Monitor progress of individual participants in meeting diversion plan goals established by JRB including but not limited: Attending therapy, tutoring, writing essays, attending education/awareness programs and other required JRB activities.
  • Coordinate community service placements and supervision of participants as required
  • Coordinate positive youth development activities for participants
  • Refer clients to a variety of services such as therapy, educational services, substance abuse treatment and youth mentoring.
  • Attend and participate in community meetings and events.
  • Complete follow-up contact, as required with participants
  • Other relevant related duties, as assigned.

  • Ability to stay calm in difficult and emotional situations
  • Understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to the custody, welfare, protection, and detention of juvenile offenders
  • Knowledge of state and local directives and guidelines regarding juvenile case management
  • Ability and flexibility to complete tasks virtually, if necessary
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
  • Criminal and DCF background check will be required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and an insured automobile for home visits, school visits, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & ability to use Zoom & Microsoft Teams.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2-4 years’ experience working with adolescents and families in a community setting. Case Management experience preferred.

Job Types: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
