  • 9am-9:30 am JRB Youth Panel (keynote);
  • 9:30am-10:30 am Session 1;
  • 10:45am – 11:45am Session 2;
  • 12:00pm – 1:00pm LUNCH and networking;
  • 1:15pm – 2:15 pm Session 3;
  • 2:30pm-3:30pm Small Group discussions – role alike discussions by community size
  • 3:45pm – 4:00 pm Closing remarks, evaluations

Session 1:

  • Using the Restorative Practice philosophy and Meaningful Engagement of Victims in the JRB process - (Liz Murphy, RYASAP)
  • Choosing and Using Assessments, the Intake process, and Effective Case management – (Liz Shulman, Middletown JRB)
  • Data – how do you best use your data, how and what do you collect, and how can you maximize use of surveys- (Barry Goff, Charter Oak Group)
  • Cultural competency in the JRB setting –(Michele Stewart-Copes, SEET Consultants, LLC)

Session 2:

  • JRB structures and policies: Creating MOU’s with surrounding JRBs, Confidentiality/Information Sharing, and effective Board representation- (Fran Carino, Office of the Chief State’s Attorney)
  • New Haven Youth Court model- (Kyisha Velazquez, New Haven JRB)
  • Handling of School/FWSN referrals -(Kay Eyberse, Norwich JRB and Bevin Perry, AHM JRB)
  • Drug use Assessments and drug programming- What is available and how do you know which to choose?– (Mary Painter/Ines Eaton – DCF)
