All YSB Directors need to be informed about changes being made that affect the YSB System.
These include:
- the new Truancy referral process and how it affects YSBs,
- the linkage of Truancy to the Community Based Diversion System,
- plans moving forward for a common screening tool for YSBs, and more.
- Additional information about the upcoming legislative session and what will be recommended for legislation will also be discussed.
Truancy cases are now being referred to YSBs, and YSBs need to know what to expect, what to look for and how to proceed. A common screening tool for YSBs will also be implemented next fiscal year, and plans for implementation will also be discussed.
Also presenting at these Summits will be CSSD (Court Support Services Division) on “Frameworks for Providers” (including the 8 core principles) and tips for reviewing Truancy referral forms from schools.
ALL YSBS WIILL BE AFFECTED BY THESE CHANGES, INCLUDING YSBs WITHOUT A JRB.
At the Directors Summit, we will explain what your YSB should expect, review new documentation, and discuss how to move forward, especially in this economic climate.
Please come to one of the three dates to get updated on these important issues, as well as to review important documents to be used moving forward.
If you cannot attend the Directors Summit, please send a staff member/case manager to represent your YSB. All YSBs need to participate.
