Jay Aronson, Lobbyist

Jay Aronson began his political career in February 1988 as the Assistant Clerk of the Connecticut General Assembly’s Government Administration and Elections Committee. After three months, Jay was promoted to a research position with the House Republican Caucus. He became the Senior Researcher for the Caucus in December 1990 and remained there until December 1995.

In December 1995, Jay joined the Government Affairs Division of the Hartford law firm of Murtha, Cullina, Richter & Pinney, LLC, where he remained until December 1998. While with Murtha, Cullina, he represented a variety of interests ranging from energy and insurance to information technology and hospice issues.

In January 1999, Jay joined the Connecticut Hospital Association as its Assistant Vice President of Government Relations. During his tenure with the Association, Mr. Aronson represented all 31 hospitals in Connecticut and was instrumental in the passage of the largest tax break ever received by Connecticut hospitals.

Jay joined Connsensus Government Consulting in January 2002 and has been CYSA's Lobbyist ever since. He has enjoyed many major lobbying successes on behalf of CYSA including garnering new funding to support enhancements for direct services to youth served. Jay has managed several successful state House, Senate and local campaigns, and also served his community as a member of several boards and commissions including Chair of the Board of Advisors for YMCA/Camp Jewell for over 8 years.
