Valerie Geato, New London County Chapter Rep.
Valerie Geato is the Director of Colchester Youth & Social Services and after MANY years, still loves her job. She is passionate about providing opportunities to kids so they may reach their full potential and become the best version of themselves. She creates opportunities through relationship building within the community and developing resources so new and different programs can be offered.
Valerie’s role as the case manager for the Youth Diversion Alliance (formerly JRB and FWSN Boards) allows her the opportunity to maintain direct services with youth while managing the day-to-day operations of the YSB and the Social Services office. Colchester Youth & Social Services is a busy department with 5 full time staff members and a handful of part time employees as well. They operate the Youth Center, the food pantry and so many other programs that support Colchester youth and families.
Valerie received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from CCSU. She is the mom of one kiddo who never stops moving and keeps her on toes.
